Gunn-Mowery Vice President Receives Forty Under 40 Award Central Penn Business Journal selected Jill Nye, CIC, CISR, AINS, API, CAPI, Vice President, Personal Lines Manager as a 2021 Forty Under 40 recipient. Forty Under 40 recognizes professionals 40 years of age and younger who have been successful in the Central Pennsylvania area. Honorees, chosen by the Central Penn Business Journal editors, were selected based on professional accomplishments, community service and commitment to inspiring change. After 15 years in Personal Insurance and 3 years in Commercial Insurance, Jill was promoted to Vice President, Personal Lines Service Manager in January of 2019. In this role, she supervises the Personal Lines department, trains staff and implements processes throughout all office locations. Jill has earned her CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative), API (Associate in Personal Insurance) and AINS (Associate in General Insurance) designations. In December of 2018, Jill was awarded the Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance (CAPI) designation by the Wharton School of Business and Chubb Insurance. To date, there are only 174 professionals who hold this prestigious designation. The winners were honored on Oct. 14 at the Hilton Harrisburg’s outside terrace, One North Second Street in Harrisburg. Gunn-Mowery, LLC Hires Two New Employees Gunn-Mowery, LLC is pleased to welcome Samantha Hanlon and Kate Bear to the Gunn-Mowery, LLC team! Samantha joins the Gunn-Mowery team as a Personal Lines Assistant. In her role as a Personal Lines Assistant, Sam uses her skills to analyze the needs of our clients and recommend the best coverage for their specific needs. Sam graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Business Management. Upon joining the Upside she has successfully obtained her Property & Casualty license. Brian Floyd, ACBC, CBC Named Simply the Best Insurance Agent 2021 In addition to Gunn-Mowery winning Best Insurance Agency, our very own, Brian Floyd was named Simply the Best Insurance Agent. Brian began his career with Gunn-Mowery in 2004 and concentrates on employee benefits for the mid-market and large group market. Brian is also our Genesis Healthcare Consortium expert, a program unique to Gunn-Mowery that minimizes health care expenses and reduces insurance carrier profits. He hold the designation of ACBC (Advanced Charter Benefits Consultant) which gives him the expertise in the area of HSAs, FSAs, and HRA/MERP plans, as well as CBC (Chartered Benefits Consultant).

Gunn-Mowery, LLC Hires Amanda Krotzer, Allie MacGregor and Iris Statler We are pleased to welcome Amanda Krotzer, Allie MacGregor and Iris Statler to Gunn-Mowery, LLC. Amanda joins the Gunn-Mowery team as a Personal Lines Agent. In her role as a Personal Lines Agent she reviews applications, prepares quotes, and evaluates risks for our clients in order to best meet their coverage needs. She graduated from Kutztown University with a degree in art education. She began her career in insurance in 2011 when she worked as a part-time office assistant. Later, in 2013 Amanda obtained her Property and Casualty license, CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative, and her CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor). Gunn-Mowery Announces Retirement of Gary Harshbarger, Senior VP We are happy to announce the retirement of Gary Harshbarger, Senior Vice President after 30 years of employment at Gunn-Mowery and 52 years total in the insurance industry. May 1, 2021 was officially Gary’s last day of employment with Gunn-Mowery, LLC – which was also his 74th Birthday! Gary is a legend in our industry and was an instrumental leader at Gunn-Mowery. He always made time to share his knowledge with our employees and clients. You could often hear him telling a fellow co-worker to “Read the policy! And then read it again and again!” Gary originally started his career in the Insurance Industry with Aetna as a Commercial Insurance Representative and then became an Independent Agent in 1980. Gary joined the Gunn-Mowery team in 1992. Over the years he has managed the Personal Lines Department, Personal Lines Service Center, Commercial Lines Service Center, as well as aided in enhancing our Cyber Insurance presence. Gary was also one of our most well-known Producers. In addition, Gary taught several classes to employees who were seeking designations. Gary earned multiple designations from the American Institute of Charted Property & Casualty Underwriters. He received designations of CPCU (Charted Property & Casualty Underwriter), ASLI (Associate in Surplus Lines), ARM (Associate in Risk Management, including Cyber Risk Management), API (Associate in Personal Insurance), AINS (Associate in General Insurance) and CRM (Cyber Risk Management). For the last 25 years Gary was also a very active member of Le Tip of the West Shore. Gary is looking forward to spending his well deserved retirement hunting and enjoying the outdoors, as well as spending more time with his wife and their grandchildren.
