Clubhouse315 hosting Boots & Brews Music Fest on September 12 Clubhouse315 in Wilkes-Barre is hosting the Boots & Brews Music Fest on Saturday, September 12. Doors will open for the event at 2:00 p.m. and the music will begin at 3:00 p.m. The event will feature food trucks, corn hole, an indoor game room, face painting, giveaways, artisan vendors, line dancing, frozen drinks, a full bar and more. There will also be a “Hole In One” golf simulator competition with cash prizes ranging from $500 to $10,000. The music festival is a family-friendly event that people of all ages can attend. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best country gear. Lawn chairs are also permitted. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Kids ages 5 and under are free.
The Wright Center for Community Health to host August ‘Walk with a Doc’ events in Scranton and Jermyn The Wright Center for Community Health is encouraging people of all ages to attend its August “‘Walk with a Doc” wellness events. These community walks are led by local physicians and healthcare professionals. They offer an easy, fun and social way to get moving while engaging in health-focused conversations. Participants enjoy light exercise, have the opportunity to ask health-related questions and connect with others in a relaxed, informal setting. The July Walk with a Doc in Jermyn will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 9 a.m. at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. Walkers should gather at the Delaware Street Trailhead entrance. The Scranton walk is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, at 9 a.m., also along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, with walkers meeting at the Olive Street entrance. The events are free and open to the public. People of all fitness levels are welcome, and no registration is required. Scranton Cultural Center to host free concert in August The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple will host The West Point Band’s America 250 Free Concert on Thursday, August 20. Doors to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Theatre will open at 6:30 pm and the concert is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. The concert is part of the ensemble’s celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America. The concert is free, but concertgoers must get their tickets online ahead of time. There is a limit of four tickets per household, and there may be convenience charges if the tickets are bought online or by phone. Take a look at their list of events happening in the coming months to celebrate America 250: The free outdoor concert series Party on the Patio will feature Adrenalize: The Ultimate Def Lepperd Experience on Thursday, July 9th and 7 Summers: The Ultimate Morgan Wallen Tribute on Thursday, July 30th. There will also be two special trackside NEPA America 250 Concerts: Laurel Canyon Band on Friday, July 10th and Bad Co. Legacy on Friday, August 28th. Celebrate Independence Day at the Scrantastic Spectacular & Fireworks Show Looking for a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July holiday? The Lackawanna County Courthouse is hosting the Lackawanna County Scrantastic Spectacular on July 3rd. It starts at 4:00 p.m. at the courthouse on North Washington Avenue in Scranton and is free. There will be food, games, bands, and a live performance from The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic at 7:30 p.m. A fireworks display will follow that performance. The Scrantastic Spectacular event map has a list of the best firework viewing locations. The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Scranton Tomorrow, and the City of Scranton are sponsors of the event.
