Nominations open for Mohegan Sun Arena’s “Salute to Service” Suite Ticket Promotion The ASM Global-managed Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Twp., along with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, are once again proud to honor local military personnel and first responders throughout the upcoming season by donating the usage of an arena luxury suite for those that served their country and community. Since the beginning of the 2015-16 event season, Mohegan Sun Arena and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins donated nearly 2,500 tickets as part of the “Salute to Service” Suite promotion. The venue’s “Salute to Service” Suite is decorated in Penguins military and first responder jerseys, and each recipient is recognized during the game. Nominations are now open for this promotion from the general public online at Mohegan Sun Arena’s website at https://mohegansunarenapa.com/salutetoservice/. Recipients of the award will be chosen at random and each recipient will receive 12 tickets to the “Salute to Service” Suite for a Penguins game along with three VIP Parking passes and a complimentary snack package. In addition, all active and retired military and first responders including police, firefighters and EMT’s will continue to receive 25% off select concessions items at permanent ASM Global/SAVOR managed concessions stands by showing their ID at all Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins games, as well as for concerts and family shows. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are offering special ticket pricing for active military by showing their Military ID card at the NBT Bank Box Office at Mohegan Sun Arena. 2020-2021 PIAA District II High School Basketball Championships this week at Mohegan Sun Arena The 2020-21 PIAA District II High School Basketball Championships presented by Price Chopper Market 32 will be hosted from March 11th-13th at the ASM Global, the premier venue management and services company, managed Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township. The PIAA District II Committee has hosted the Boys and Girls Basketball District Championships at Mohegan Sun Arena every year since 2016. Local and state guidelines on indoor venue capacities will be observed to ensure social distancing and guest and participant safety. Currently, Mohegan Sun Arena is permitted to host up to 15% capacity, which equates to approximately 1,500 people per game. This event will mark the first publicly ticketed event to be hosted at the venue under the revised capacity restrictions. Ticket prices for the District II Basketball finals at Mohegan Sun Arena are $8 for adults and students. Tickets will be sold by each participating school district and will be limited to comply with current local and state capacity restrictions for indoor facilities. Parking fees are included with the ticket price. All tickets are general admission and will require guests to sit in specially marked seats to comply with social distancing guidelines. Tickets will be valid for each individual game as sold. As opposed to previous years, all ticket holders for a specific game will need to exit the venue upon that game’s conclusion. Anyone wishing to attend another game will need to purchase a ticket for that specific game. The venue will be cleaned with CDC recommended disinfectant before and after each game.
