Grant Applications are Open for Nonprofit Organizations

The Jimmy Balchune Memorial Fund is now accepting applications for the 2026 Jimmy Balchune Memorial Fund Annual Grant.

Anyone who is 501c certified can apply for this years $10,000 grant.

Fill out the form and write how to better the community in honor of Jimmy. Share what you know of him and how receiving this award would better your organization.

Past award winners:

2021- $10,000 to the Duryea Wildcats Football organization for a new scoreboard and equipment for football players and cheerleaders.

2022- $10,000 to the Pittston Santa Squad for Christmas gifts to underprivileged children.

2023- $12,500 to the Pittston YMCA towards their gym restoration project. Additional $2500.00 to The Pittston Santa Squad

2024- $12,500 to GPA Baseball for upgrades to the Duryea Little League Field. $2500.00 to Pittston Partnerships Shop-With-A-Cop Program and $2500.00 to Coffee Inclusive towards their new bakery addition.

2025- $10,000 to Gifts For Teens which benefits underprivileged teenagers for Christmas. $5000.00 to Excelsior Fire Department, in Duryea, towards their expansion. $8000.00 to Duryea VFW Post 1227 to purchase doors on their community pavilion.
