Geisinger College of Health Sciences to Host Free Event to Explore Bullying and How to Respond

Bullying can take many forms, and recognizing the warning signs can help adults deter bullies and help their targets.

That’s why Geisinger College of Health Sciences will host the free event They’re Not Just Bein’ Mean: Navigating the World of Kids Who Think They Are Sopranos on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at 525 Pine St., Scranton.

Timothy Lionetti, Ph.D., pediatric psychologist, will lead the session, which will provide practical, evidence-based strategies for supporting children and navigating the reporting process.

Attendees will learn about:

● Different types of bullying and how they may present

● Warning signs that a child may be experiencing — or engaging in — bullying

● Practical, evidence-based strategies for supporting children

● How to navigate the reporting process

● Ways adults can help create a safer, more supportive environment for children
