Scranton Cultural Center’s 19th Annual Evening of Fine Food and Wine Scheduled

Members News

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple will host the 19th Annual Evening of Fine Food and Wine on April 28 at 5:30 p.m. As one of its largest fundraisers of the year, the SCC gives guests a chance to experience its building like never before while showcasing some of the area’s finest restaurants and caterers.  This year’s honorary chairpersons are Debbie and Mike Kolsovky and Tom and Courtney Tulaney.

The event features entrées from five top area restaurants: Carmen’s at the Radisson, Fire and Ice on Toby Creek, The French Manor, The Hilton Scranton and Conference Center and Posh at the Scranton Club/The Colonnade.  Guests will travel through the unique and beautiful rooms of the Scranton Cultural Center as each restaurant’s chef gives a demonstration as well as a sample of a signature dish. Each entrée is paired with a complementary wine or cocktail.  In addition, area media personalities are present to share information about each room, upcoming events at the Center and the evening’s silent auction, proceeds from which benefit fundraising efforts for NEPA Match Day.The evening begins in the Grand Ballroom with a premium open bar and a variety of appetizers from local restaurants: Constantino’s Catering, Cooper’s Seafood House, Henry’s on Clay, Mansour’s Market Café, Peculiar Culinary Company, Slocum Hollow at Montage Mountain Resorts and Vine Café.  The night concludes with an array of decadent desserts and coffee provided by Electric City Roasting Company, Epicurean Delight, Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar, Lackawanna College Baking and Pastry Program, Manning Farm Dairy and Zummo’s Café.  Beer samples will also be available throughout the evening courtesy of LT Verrastro.

This event is the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy delicious food and wine pairings, experience the grandeur of the SCC, and help to continue its mission: to enrich the community through culturally diverse programming and events while preserving a national historic treasure.
