Janet Jeffers, IHM, Joins Senior Day Services as Director of Senior Companion Program Members News June 17, 2020 Janet Jeffers, IHM, recently joined Senior Day Services as director of the senior companion program. In this role, Sister Janet will oversee the team of dedicated volunteers who visit elderly clients each week to provide company and assistance with everyday tasks. She also plans to spearhead initiatives that connect new volunteers with local veterans seeking companionship and support. Prior to her current position at Senior Day Services, Sister Janet served with the Sisters of St. Cyril and Methodius in Danville as assistant to the chief financial officer. From 2010 to 2017, she was the executive director of Catholic Social Services in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties, and before this held several administrative titles in nursing homes and hospitals in New York and Pennsylvania. Sister Janet has also served on the senior leadership team of her IHM congregation, and for eight years she taught business education in Pittsburgh and New York. Sister Janet received her master’s in Hospital and Health Care Administration from Xavier University and has earned a Fellowship in the American College of Health Care Executives. She is a licensed nursing home administrator and also holds a degree in business education from Marywood University. She says of her new role at Senior Day Services, “I’m planning to be open to new possibilities and am looking forward to continuing to meet the clients and companions.”
