Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre hosts Back to School Wellness Fair

 

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – As the last precious weeks of summer give way to the first day of school for children across Pennsylvania, Geisinger will offer kids a fun way to learn about wellness.

Geisinger’s Back to School Wellness Fair will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, 25 Church St. Parking will be available in the Church Street parking garage.

The event will feature games, educational activities, healthy snacks and giveaways for children of all ages, and activity stations will be staffed by health professionals who can help families kick off the school year in a wellness-forward state-of-mind.

Activities will include fitness games, food games, fitness dice, MyPlate trivia, backpack activities, bean bag toss, dangers of smoking, asthma education and a handwashing demonstration.

Families can register online at Geisinger.org/events, but walk-ins are also welcome.
