The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit available to employers for hiring individuals who have faced barriers to employment. WOTC helps workers move from economic dependency to self sufficiency as they earn a steady income and become contributing taxpayers, while participating employers are able to reduce their income tax liability.

The Federal Bonding Program was created as an incentive for employers to hire β€œat-risk,” hard-to-place job seekers and may provide an employer a business insurance policy that protects the employer against loss of money or property due to employee dishonesty. The bond is good for six months – at no cost – in the amount of $5,000.
