Marywood University names Career Engagement Specialist

 

 

 

Marywood University recently named Christina R. Brundage, M.S., Ph.D. student, to the role of career engagement specialist. Ms. Brundage began her career at Marywood University working with students, staff and faculty in the role of technology trainer, where she was instrumental in helping students achieve their goals.

Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

 

 

 

Laura Piazza Smith, RN, BSN, NHA, will transition from her current position as Vice President and Administrator of Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to organization’s first Chief Nursing Innovation Officer. Under her leadership, Allied Services’ Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center introduced the region’s only post-acute, 24-hour respiratory unit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

James Cooney, NHA, has been named as Vice President of Skilled Nursing Facilities for Allied Services Integrated Health System. Mr. Cooney joined Allied Services in 2014, where he led the opening of the new 55-bed Transitional Rehab Unit located in the Allied Services Rehab Hospital.

Cynthia D. Burdick, Assistant Vice President, Bank Secrecy Act Officer at The Dime Bank, recently completed the Independent Community Bankers of America Community Banker University’s Bank Secrecy Act / Anti Money Laundering (BSA/AML) Institute.  Mrs. Burdick has served as The Dime Bank’s BSA officer since 2014 and has been part of the bank’s BSA function since 1996.

Community Bank Donates to NeighborWorks NEPA

Community Bank NA recently donated $10,000 to NeighborWorks NEPA as part of the neighborhood Assistance Program by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

SMG Management names Head of Booking Team

 

Brian Sipe, general manager of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, was recently named the head of the SMG Northeast Regional booking team by SMG Management, the private management company that oversees the day-to-day operations of the arena. Mr. Sipe, who has been the general manager of the Wilkes-Barre Township venue since October 2014, will now oversee regional booking calls for the Northeast United States and Canada.

Mr. Sipe began his career with SMG as booking and box office manager in 2008 at the Santander Arena in Reading before accepting a position as general manager of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, West Virginia in 2010. Mr. Sipe joined the team of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in 2014, when he accepted the role of general manager of the 10,000 seat multi-purpose arena.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart Spreads Holiday Cheer

Hospice of the Sacred Heart recently delivered Thanksgiving meals to patients and their families as a way to spread holiday cheer throughout the organization. This year marks the 12th year that Hospice of the Sacred Heart has performed this service project, where meals were packaged and delivered by staff members and community volunteers.

Scranton Area Community Foundation Awards Funds for the Arts

On behalf of the Governor’s Arts Awards Committee, Scranton Tomorrow recently accepted a $2,500 grant from the Scranton Area Foundation. While planning activities for the recent awards ceremony, Scranton Tomorrow and committee members partnered with existing arts and cultural organizations from throughout the region in order to highlight their contributions to the local arts community.
