New Hires – The Wright Center Angela M. Murphy, CRNP, MSN, RN, has joined The Wright Center as a registered certified nurse practitioner. In this role, Ms. Murphy will provide primary care services, including assessing and managing patients, at The Wright Center for Primary Care Mid Valley. Before joining The Wright Center, Ms. Murphy held an adjunct faculty position at The University of Scranton and was employed by Moses Taylor Hospital and Community Medical Center. She has more than 20 years’ experience in geriatrics, nursing education, medical/surgical, telemetry, interventional radiology and ICU/critical care.

Mrs. Gurnari’s professional experience includes several years of service at Citizens Bank, Prudential Retirement, First National Bank, and M&T Bank. She studied business at Luzerne County Community College.
Landmark Community Bank Welcomes Stephen Cook Stephen Cook has been named vice president and branch manager for the Pittston branch of Landmark Community Bank. Mr. Cook formerly served as a senior branch manager for M&T Bank. Prior to that position, he was a branch manager for Mellon Bank and a mortgage processor for First Fidelity Bank. A veteran of the Persian Gulf War, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from King’s College and is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre.
New Hire – Horizon Dental Care Dr. Jack Lawrence, DMD, has joined the staff of Horizon Dental Care and will see patients in both its Scranton and Hawley offices. Dr. Lawrence earned his bachelor’s degree at Johns Hopkins University and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University’s Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry. He completed his residency through New York University Winthrop Hospital. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry.

Burdick, Assistant Vice President, Bank Secrecy Act Officer at The Dime Bank, recently completed the Independent Community Bankers of America Community Banker University’s Bank Secrecy Act / Anti Money Laundering (BSA/AML) Institute. Mrs. Burdick has served as The Dime Bank’s BSA officer since 2014 and has been part of the bank’s BSA function since 1996.
Borton-Lawson Welcomes New Employees Borton-Lawson recently welcomed four new employees to its Wilkes-Barre office. Scott Zellner has joined the Land Planning and Design team as a civil designer. He is currently a senior at Drexel University, from where he will graduate in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Benjamin Ardary has joined the Buildings team as an electrical engineer. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, from where he earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. Daniel Pfeffer has joined the Industrial Infrastructure team as an electrical designer. He graduated from Luzerne County Community College, where he earned associate degrees in electrical construction and architectural engineering technology. Abby Moules has joined Borton-Lawson as the Strategic Assistant to the chief executive officer. She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, from where she earned her bachelor’s degree in bioengineering.
New Hires at Allied Services Laura Piazza Smith, RN, BSN, NHA, will transition from her current position as Vice President and Administrator of Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to organization’s first Chief Nursing Innovation Officer. Under her leadership, Allied Services’ Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center introduced the region’s only post-acute, 24-hour respiratory unit. James Cooney, NHA, has been named as Vice President of Skilled Nursing Facilities for Allied Services Integrated Health System. Mr. Cooney joined Allied Services in 2014, where he led the opening of the new 55-bed Transitional Rehab Unit located in the Allied Services Rehab Hospital.
