Whether you are Tiger Woods or Duffer Dan there are dozens of golf courses in Greater Scranton where you can hone your skills or embarrass your family’s good name.

Our rolling hills and breathtaking scenery make for some of the best public and private courses anywhere on the East Coast. Golfing here won’t break your wallet – the average cost for nine holes with a cart is just $18. A full 18, cart included, averages just $32. And here’s the best part - you don’t have to wake up at 4:30 a.m. just to stand in line for five hours to tee-off. There are 36 public courses within a 45-minute drive of Downtown Scranton so getting a convenient tee-time is a breeze.

Lackawanna County is home to four exceptional private golf country clubs – The Country Club of Scranton, Elmhurst Country Club, Glen Oak Country Club and Glenmaura National Golf Club. All have hosted prestigious tournaments and have been recognized for excellence in national golf magazines. Each spring, scores of professional golfers flock to Glenmaura to play in the Northeast PA Classic, a regular stop on the PGA Tour.

Pro shops can be found at all of our private courses. Several of our public courses have them also. Competitive golfers can aspire to greatness in our many competitive golf leagues.
