Unfurnished, one-bed, one-bath apartments (750 to 900 square feet) in suburban apartment complexes are typically offered for between $500 and $800 per month.

Unfurnished, two-bed, one-bath apartments (850 to 1,150 square feet) in suburban complexes are offered from $600 to $900 per month.

These rents often include water, sewer, trash removal and pest control and sometimes include heat and cable TV.

Many locals choose apartments in large, older homes in safe, established neighborhoods, where rents often fall into the $375 to $500 per month range.

Homes in Greater Scranton
The cost of your new home in Greater Scranton will of course depend upon several factors such as size, style and number of bedrooms. For example, it is still possible to buy a nice home in Greater Scranton for less than $100,000. Therefore, someone interested in constructing a 2,500 square foot home in a residential subdivision here can expect a total project cost of approximately $215,000.
