This award is presented to an exceptional individual who has achieved excellence in her/his business or profession, has served the community in a meaningful way, and has assisted women in reaching their full leadership ability. This award actively supports and celebrates the mission of supporting, developing and honoring women leaders, inspiring women to achieve their maximum potential, hence creating balance in leadership worldwide. The ATHENA Award started in Lansing, Michigan in 1982 and is presented in hundreds of cities in the United States and Canada. The award takes the form of a hand-cast bronze sculpture symbolizing the strength, courage, and wisdom of the recipient.
Judging Criteria: ATHENA recipients must meet each of the following three criteria 1.) Demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession 2.) Provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community 3.) Assist women in reaching their full leadership potential
This award will be presented at the Chamber's Annual Membership Luncheon in October.
