Annual events include:

First Night Scranton

A family-friendly and non-alcoholic New Year’s Eve celebration featuring food and live entertainment.

St. Patrick’s Parade

Join the crowd in downtown Scranton and watch the second largest St. Patrick’s Parade in the country. The nationally acclaimed parade has attracted fans with the sights and sounds of the holiday since 1962.

Ethnic Festivals: La Festa Italiana, Greek, Lebanese, Polish, Hispanic and multi-cultural heritage events

Indulge in the culture and cuisine of Italy throughout Labor Day weekend at Courthouse Square in Scranton. Volunteers have organized La Festa Italiana since 1975. Enjoy traditional Lebanese food, music and dancing at the annual Lebanese Festival at St. Ann Marionite Church held annually in September. Throughout the year several churches and cultural organizations hold food festivals.

First Friday Scranton

Support local artists by viewing their work on the first Friday of every month in downtown Scranton. Stroll through galleries and businesses downtown on the art walk, featuring paintings, music, performances and more.

Scranton Community Concerts

Enjoy jazz, classical, opera and more at the concert series at Lackawanna College featuring renowned artists from all over the world.

Everhart Museum

Explore a whole new world by diving into the museum’s collections, exhibits and programs. Offerings from the fields of science, art and history inspire, educate and entertain all ages.

The Scranton Iron Furnaces

See firsthand the remnants of the early iron industry in Scranton. Four massive furnaces remain from the original Lackawanna Iron & Steel Company, dating back to 1840.Take a historic trolley ride to the Visitor Center for exhibits, tours and gifts.
