Founded in 1989, the Business and Education Partnership of The Greater
Scranton Chamber of Commerce is made up of business leaders, small and
large companies, educators, government officials and other local
community leaders who contribute their time and energy to benefit our
community.
Leadership Lackawanna is a program that develops community leaders for
the greater Scranton/Lackawanna County area. Begun in 1982 under the
sponsorship of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Leadership
Lackawanna seeks to identify leaders from various geographic, racial,
ethnic, occupational and economic segments of the community. Through
training, the program provides its participants with the ability to
develop community leadership by understanding the problems,
opportunities, and issues facing greater Scranton/Lackawanna County.
Skills in Scranton is the parent organization to several different
programs that are intended to help students, teachers and employers. It
creates and nurtures business, education and community partnerships to
address educational and workforce opportunities for greater Scranton
students and communities. Skills in Scranton and the programs that it
offers have been nationally recognized for their commitment to
establishing educational programs that benefit the community.
