Bevan Returns to Clarks Summit University as Vice President

Clarks Summit University has selected Thomas Bevan to be the new vice president for business administration and finance. Bevin, who will assume his role later this month, worked at the university from 2011 to 2014 as the executive director of the BBC Foundation, which provides financial planning options to benefit both the investor and CSU students.

He is eager to return to the university, “because of the vision I see there and the burden I have never lost to be a part of that vision.” He considers it a privilege to return in this strategic way.

Bevan, who has career experience in both business and ministry, was most recently the vice president and planned giving officer at The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. He has more than 11 years of experience in financial services, specifically in insurance-funded business-succession models and related estate-planning and inheritance-equalization strategies. His overall performance led to inclusion in the President’s Forum of top national producers. He also served in pastoral roles for more than 22 years.

Bevan also has a 20-year tenure in emergency medicine as a practitioner, researcher, developer and marketer in cardiac resuscitation, which ultimately involved the early development of automated defibrillators. At what became two Fortune 500 settings, he served in senior leadership roles, overseeing sales teams and financial operations and helping to complete financial and operational assessment of targeted business acquisitions.

He was also approved by the BBC Foundation Board to become president of the foundation dedicated to helping university students. “Having these two roles joined together allows for a seamless representation to our constituency both the university’s stewardship efforts and what the Foundation’s distinct capabilities are to help augment the resources we have been entrusted with through its strategic, tax-favored gift designs,” Bevan notes.

“Tom’s broad base of experience, combined with his commitment to our mission, make him an ideal choice for this time in our university’s life,” notes CSU President Dr. Jim Lytle.

Bevan is eager to again work with the Foundation family of strategic partners and investors, stating, “I am humbled to accept the mantle once again of leading the Foundation forward in this new era at Summit University.  I look forward to sharing some fresh new ideas that, first, serve them in their needs, while, secondarily, preserving their desire to enrich the work the Lord is doing here.”

Bevan has studied at Michigan State University, Tennessee Temple University and Rhodes State College. He is licensed in Life Insurance and Annuities in six states.
