Sara Thaxton To Speak at Empower, the NEPA Women’s Leadership Conference

The Chamber is pleased to announce that Sara Thaxton will be a featured speaker at empower, the Northeast PA Women’s Leadership Conference, which will be held on Thursday, April 19.

Sara Thaxton, owner of the Thaxton Holistic Wellness Center, has made it her mission to create a therapeutic environment where individuals, families and couples are able to safely and comfortably explore the concerns that brought them to therapy. She has years of experience and training working with a variety of mental health concerns, specializing in trauma and mood disorders. Ms. Thaxton is currently completing her Ph.D. in counseling, counselor education, and supervision at Syracuse University. She holds a Master of Arts degree in community counseling, a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Ms. Thaxton is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has taught at the university level and provides clinical supervision for master’s-level students as well as consultation for current practitioners. Using a holistic perspective as the foundation for her clinical work, Ms. Thaxton incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person-centered and art therapy, as well as a humanistic approach tailored to her clients’ individual needs.
