The SAGE Awards recognize businesses in our community in a variety of categories: Best Practices in Customer Service, Best Practices in Community Involvement, Best Practices in Marketing and Communications, Business of the Year, Excellence in Leadership, Hometown Star, New and Emerging Business of the Year, Non-Profit Organization of the Year, Pride and Progress, Small Business of the Year and Woman of Excellence.
“It’s time your business or company receives the recognition it deserves,” said Nicole Morristell, SAGE Awards coordinator. “You need to be the biggest advocate, the loudest voice or the constant cheerleader.”
“Our SAGE Awards honor and recognize Chamber members for their outstanding achievements, but its starts with you,” she continued. “If you don’t fill out the application and tell us how amazing you are, who will? Be proud of your organization.”
Categories for the SAGE Awards are as follows:
Best Practices in Customer Service: Do your customers love you? Do you get rave reviews? This category recognizes a business whose customer service has increased client satisfaction, client retention, referrals and/or profits.
Best Practices in Community Involvement: If your business demonstrates a commitment to community involvement and philanthropy as part of its core values, then be sure to fill out the application for this award!
Best Practices in Marketing and Communications: Did your company design a brochure, billboard or poster? Did you develop a TV or radio ad? If so, apply for this award! This award recognizes creative excellence in an advertising campaign.
Business of the Year: Has your business been operating for three or more years and have more than 10 employees? Apply for the Business of the Year award, which recognizes a business for its accomplishments and operational successes.
Excellence in Leadership: Are you a top employer? Did you receive recognition for your organizational achievements? This award focuses on the highest quality of business leadership, dedication to innovation and employee development.
Hometown Star: In the past year has your business made a significant economic impact on our area by conducting an event, with a rich social, historical and charitable contribution? Apply for the Hometown Star!
New and Emerging Business of the Year: Are you an emerging business that has demonstrated a capacity for creativity and innovation, experienced growth and established itself as a leader in its industry? Apply for this award!
Non-Profit Organization of the Year: This award recognizes a non-profit organization that demonstrates excellence in five areas – role in society, financial stability, fundraising, marketing and strategic alliances.
Pride and Progress: recognizes public or private sector operations for upgrading their establishments and improving the region. There are three different subcategories: exterior renovations, interior renovations and new construction.
Small Business of the Year: Are you a mom and pop shop? Do you own a cute boutique tucked in a quaint neighborhood? This award recognizes a business, with 10 or fewer employees, for its accomplishments and operational successes.
Woman of Excellence: Toot your own horn! Pat yourself on the back! The Woman of Excellence award honors a woman whose character, conduct, service, leadership and achievements, personally and professionally, contribute to the current and future development of the greater Scranton community.
